At Jeongja, you’re closer to school than anyone except Sunae folks. It’s about a 30-35 minute walk, a short cab ride, a short bus ride, etc. You can also walk to loads of shopping, groceries, restaurants, river paths/trails, etc. And you also have the quickest route to Gangnam and Seoul, quicker even than those who live in Bokjeong -- that would be the Sinbundang subway line. The word is your restaurants are generally more expensive than those the rest of us live near, but ask the KIS locals -- they can tell you where to go and what to do.
In the guide below, Bundang is yellow subway line, Sinbundang is red subway line. If the bus entry says “n/a”, it’s not because there’s no bus route. There is ALWAYS a bus route. But the subway is almost always faster unless you’re taking an express bus (red) into Seoul. None of this stuff involves an express route into Seoul. So, n/a means the subway is faster.

For Geckos or to visit friends at Daedok, the 8100 or 8101 buses might be better because you won’t have to walk 10 minutes from Jukjeon station, or transfer, or catch a cab, or whatever. But if you get to the Jeongja stop and it says 15 minutes to the next 8100/8101, take the subway -- it’ll be faster, even if you have to walk the last bit. (And there are plenty of buses and cabs from Jukjeon that’ll take you close to Daedok.) If going to E-mart Jukjeon, the subway is definitely faster because it drops you off right there with no traffic. But if you buy bags and bags of stuff, you might consider the bus coming back if you don’t want to climb out of the subway station so heavily laden. :-)
Important notes for Costco: 1) Yangjae Citizens Forest and Yangjae ARE NOT THE SAME STATION**! See your subway map. 2) If you are a moderate walker and don’t have a stroller or a toddler, the 15-minute walk from Yangjae Citizens Forest is almost always the faster of these two options. It takes an extra 2 minutes for the subway to get to Yangjae station (going away from Costco the entire time), then an extra 5-8 minutes to exit the station (it’s a very large station), then a 1-10 minute wait for the bus, then the 08 and 20 buses stop frequently and deal with heavy traffic.
